What do the UTM parameters that Siphon uses mean?

If you have enabled the option for Siphon to append UTM parameters to your filter's final URL you may see various parameters being used. The table below outlines all the possibilities. 

UTM ParameterMeaning
utm_siphon_type Possible Values:
  • "b" - This means that Siphon has classified this piece of traffic as a bot
  • "h" - This means that Siphon has classified this piece of traffic as human
utm_siphon_b_type This UTM parameter is only appended when Bot traffic is detected
Possible Values:
  • "g" - This means that Siphon has classified the bot as good
  • "b" - This means that Siphon has classified the bot as bad
utm_siphon_result Possible Values:
  • "t" - The visitor passed a rule for the filter and is marked as targetted traffic
  • "d" - The visitor did not pass a rule for the filter and is marked as disposed traffic
filterhit The associated ID for this particular piece of traffic, useful for diagnosing possible technical issues or cross referencing reports.
